On the 5th of November 2023 the Moreton Bay City Mayor’s Inclusive Sports Day Event will launch an All-Ability Match of Beep Cricket where the BATS team comprising participants of a wide variety of disabilities will pitch their skills against the Moreton Bay City Mayor’s XI team.
Adaptive technology such as:
The now famous Beeping Cricket Ball
Tactile Boundary Rope
A new high contrast synthetic grass pitch
A new innovative computerised umpire and scoring system will be on display.
In addition to the Beep Cricket match (the Moreton Bay Shield), a variety of other sports will be played on adjacent fields:
Hocky
Netball
Soccer
Softball
Touch Football
Local sporting Clubs will be manning marquees adjacent to these fields and will be assisting/encouraging those who want to try the game.
There will be several service providers, local associations, and local businesses manning stalls around the ground. Local Lions Clubs will be manning the BBQ and other not-for-profits will be running a horse race, face painting and other entertainment. I’m told that a well-known Australian Cricketer will be in attendance on the day.
